About Global Yogi

All seeing eyesThe term Yogi (or Yogin) traditionally refers to those in India and Tibet who renounced all possessions and dedicated their lives to the pursuit of enlightenment. Yogis moved from place to place, constantly in search of new teachings, new masters, and fellow Yogis to guide them in the spiritual path. The Global Yogi is a site dedicated to what we think of as the modern Yogi: one whose wandering path includes the search for spiritual guidance from fellows and teachers. The site started as an idea of an individual, plotting his own spiritual path, who had a hard time finding teachings during his travels.  We believe that information about teachings—anywhere and by any master—should be readily available from one source.  The site serves as a guide for students of a range of Buddhist disciplines, as well as New Age and other Eastern philosophy.  We have expanded to provide information on retreats, regular sittings and special events world-wide.
