Description:

llness and caring for those who are ill, while one of the most challenging experiences of a lifetime, can also provide the opportunity for profound spiritual insight and a deep opening of the heart. During this class, we will meet together to explore illness and caretaking within a Buddhist context. How can illness and caretaking be a path to our own awakening? How can we maintain emotional well-being during times of great stress? How can we utilize visualization and meditation to enhance physical and psychological well-being?

We will engage in the practices the Buddha laid out for healing the heart, including the cultivation of equanimity, lovingkindness, compassion and joy. We will do visualization practices designed to promote physical and psychological healing. We will move gently, chant, and spend time sharing our stories in a caring and supportive environment.
